The Dog House – Pet Grooming Salon – Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions
The 'Salon' refers to The Dog House. 'Pet' refers to the animal being groomed. 'Client' refers to the owner or authorized representative of the pet.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
3. Health, Welfare, and Suitability
The welfare of the pet is our primary concern. If we believe a pet is showing signs of extreme stress or ill health, the groom may be stopped or modified at the salon’s discretion.
4. Elderly, Anxious, and Medically Compromised Pets
Grooming procedures can be stressful for older or unhealthy pets. We take every precaution, but these pets are groomed at the owner's risk.
5. Pre-Existing Conditions
Clients must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or behavioural issues. The Salon is not responsible for complications arising from undisclosed health problems.
6. Accidents and Injury
While we use the utmost care, clipping a pet’s coat involves sharp equipment. The Salon is not liable for minor nicks or skin irritations that occur due to pet movement or coat condition.
7. Owner Responsibility
Owners are responsible for ensuring pets are up-to-date with vaccinations and are in a fit state to be groomed.
8. Fleas and Ticks
If fleas are discovered, an additional surcharge will be added to the grooming fee to cover the cost of insecticide treatment and deep cleaning of the salon.

9. Home-Based Salon
As a home-based business, we ask clients to respect our property and neighbours. Please ensure pets have toileted before arrival and avoid parking on neighbouring driveways.
10. Appointments, Cancellations, and No-Shows
We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled service price.
11. Pricing and Payment
Quotes are estimates based on standard breed sizes and coat conditions. Final pricing is determined by the time and effort required. Payment is due upon pet collection.
12. Photographs and Marketing
We may take photos or videos of your pet for marketing or social media. Please notify us if you do not grant permission.
13. Data Protection
We store your data securely in accordance with GDPR regulations. Information is used strictly for salon records and appointment communications.
14. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the service in question.
15. Amendments
The Dog House reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Owner Declaration
When making a booking, I confirm that I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of The Dog House. I certify that my pet is in healthy condition and up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations. I have disclosed all relevant medical and behavioural history and accept responsibility for any complications arising from undisclosed conditions.
